There’s no need to lift a shell to your ear to hear the sea at this Cornish cottage – with the sea as your closest neighbour, you’ll hear waves lapping the shore all day. Split over three levels, this home makes the most of its position above the harbour to provide stunning views. Upstairs offers the cosy retreat of a second living room, perfect for snuggling down with a book or switching on a film for all the family. Downstairs, the open-plan communal space is flooded with light and luxurious coastal air. Each floor has you edging closer and closer to the water, eventually stepping all the way down to the patio which claims a portion of the River Fowey all to itself. The nearest beach is only metres away and, as the region is known for some of the UK’s best surf, why not take a trip down with a board in tow? If you prefer your sport on land, even perusing the shops, bars, and cafes will have you getting your steps in. The Cornish coast is alive with a great sense of heritage, so sail away and anchor down here for the ultimate secluded, seaside secret.
