RUN FOR NATURE AT CHESTER ZOO
SUNDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2024

Join us on Sunday 22 September 2024 for the Chester Zoo 10k and Kids Mile! This year’s event takes place on World Rhino Day, and we’re raising money for vital work to protect this wonderful animal.

You’ll run through the zoo before we open to the public, on a 10k route around our zoo estate. Your little ones can get involved too, with a 1 mile ZOOM for 4-15 years olds!

Here at Chester Zoo, a key element of our conservation work is saving the rhino from extinction, both here at our Chester hub and around the world. The two species of rhino that we are working to protect (Eastern black and greater one-horned) are both at risk of extinction due to habitat loss and poaching. With numbers incredibly low across the globe, our science team have developed groundbreaking techniques to help boost populations. This work is now being rolled out around the world, including through our new lab in Kenya to help this magnificent animal thrive in the future.

RUN OUR ROUTE WITH A DIFFERENCE

The Chester Zoo 10k and Kids Mile both have flat and fast routes through our zoo estate. Starting in the zoo itself, you’ll then pass fascinating sights like our Conservation Breeding Management Area and where our giraffes’ food is grown.
